Inaugural Flight of Wayra Peru to the Aerodrome of Máncora Walter Braed Segú

Saturday September 5, 2020 was a historic day for Peruvian aviation and the long history of its airports. On this occasion, Wayra Peru flight WY 2156 was scheduled to depart at 8:30 am in a Fokker 70 with a 77-passenger configuration. The flight lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Walter Braedt Segú aerodrome, which is in the Canoas de Punta Sal district in the department of Tumbes, located exactly on the border of Piura and Tumbes, 3km from the center of the resort. of Máncora.

The charter flight was very well received and marked a historic milestone as it was the first 77-passenger jet flight to land in the resort. It is of great importance for the area as it will generate a large flow of tourists, investors and passengers; one more new place to arrive, betting on a much more decentralized tourism that, despite the pandemic, will help aviation recover little by little, marking historical milestones.

The Fokker 70 stayed at the aerodrome for approximately 3 hours before resuming its flights to Lima. This event did not leave strangers to those present or to the residents who for the first time in the place heard a jet.
